What motivates me to write is the feeling of balance writing provides me.  Writing isn't about creating perfection on the page, for me it is about getting out the story that lives and breathes inside me.  Releasing the story bits by bits is releasing air from a tight balloon...I feel a sense of relaxation as the deflation occurs.  Then I fill again until the next story is tightly packed enough to release.  I write poetry, non-fiction, and fiction...Don't try to tie me down...the knot will not hold.

Patty Callaway is my co-author on a series of books that actualize math into the real world of South Texas. Our first book is about problem solving and farming sorgham. The math problems are practical practice for basic math. In addition to the orginial photography, the poem is my original work. I hope you take the opportunity to see what we've put together.
