About Me
I was born on December 8, 1977 in Washington, D.C.
I’ve been through terrible situations that felt like hell but situations don’t make me
Survived childhood sexual abuse, rapes, assaults, the projects, two miscarriages, domestic abuse
Six different elementary schools, hunger, homelessness, racism, sexism and drug use
I was raised by a single mother, have four siblings, and grew up not having financially much
My father in a mental institution taught me to value an education; more important than any touch
My mom is the most beautiful woman on this earth I have ever seen
But the beauty I am talking about is that she believed in and supported my dreams
The greatest gifts she gave me: life, then love is that she instilled within me values, self-esteem
Since the age of four I aspired to be an attorney, I finished the university, I was the family’s first
Was told by a Jewish teacher I would never be an attorney but she did not quench my thirst
Irony: alumni of a Jewish law school, at 31 opened a Law Office, founded UB1 Power for the community
Many ask what is UB1 Power: It’s a grassroots organization seeking to uplift all through unity
I am married with two brilliant, charismatic little boys
Got the world rising against my beautiful black family, but never can they still our joy
At home I teach my sons about God, love, karma, and how with hard work dreams come true
I teach my sons values, morals, and to not do to others what you wouldn’t want done to you
I strive and struggle to make ends meet
I have pride in knowing that despite hard times I never let the devil rejoice in defeat
The devil has used the police to falsely arrest me, the court system to falsely convict
I have been a politically prisoner and banned from my home and hunted as if I am a witch
Been denied justice in both the civil and criminal arenas, so many wrongs too many to list
Now that my house is in order I have been blessed after being put through it all
I have testimony; I am an author of several books that will hopefully prevent many from the fall
I believe in giving back to my community because mentors helped me to this path
But most importantly I live my life for GOD not for my own behalf
