Background Information

Karen DeGroot Carter, a native of Syracuse, New York, Syracuse University alum, and mother of three, has contributed to print and on-line publications, worked in corporate communications, and written and edited articles, stories, and full-length works of fiction and non-fiction for more than 25 years. Her first novel, One Sister’s Song, was published by Pearl Street Publishing of Denver in 2002 and reprinted in 2004. Her blog, BEYOND Understanding, highlights resources that promote tolerance and celebrate diversity.
