I have been inspired and transformed by the words of the great minds who are the Grandfathers of Thought. My reading list is extensive and includes words from Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Earl Nightingale, and the like. Some more current heroes are Darren Hardy, Bob Proctor, and Leslie Householder. I am in awe of, and grateful for the divinely appointed human ability to create our own circumstances. We no longer have to be victim to them.
My husband, Scott and I feel very strongly that children are born believing in themselves. They know that they can achieve anything; and be anything. Something happens somewhere between those young childhood years and the years preparing for adulthood; something that we believe is incorrect. A child wants to be an astronaut, a movie star, a rock star, or whatever else, and too many people tell them that it’s going to be too difficult a task. The people saying those things are only drawing from their own fears; fears that are usually baseless.
We need to raise a generation of kids who are strong, confident, and amazing! We need to raise leaders. We need kids who believe in themselves; believe that they can make an impact individually as well as collectively on the world; kids who have enough confidence to make good decisions on their own! We want our kids to be that way, and want to help other kids achieve the same success. We want the parents who are reading Fox and the Mountain to their families to realize that anything is possible; to remember the feelings they had as children when they weren’t defeated before they even started. We want everyone who reads the book to be able to recall the different characters that Fox encounters as he is striving to reach his goal of finding the fruit for his family. The characters will help children recognize and discern which voices and advice to heed, and which to discard, as they set out and work toward their own goals! We are all capable of greatness! It’s never “too late”. We’re never stuck! Fox and the Mountain is a book that should be read by every person, young and old. We can all learn from the inspired lessons within its pages.
