L.A. Hamilton lives with her husband, two daughters and Boston Terrier puppy on a forty acre farm in rural America. She has two sons, and two daughters that she, and her husband have raised together since 2002.
This first novel was written in two weeks. However, she toiled for the next eleven months editing it before she turned it over for publication.
She realized her passion for writing early in life, when she was encouraged by her kindly neighbor to keep a journal when she was only in grade school. Thus the seeds were planted, and by the time she entered middle school, she had notebooks full of poetry and short stories.
Though she struggled with reading and spelling while she was a child, a spiritual unction led her to read the King James version of the bible, simply because she was sure that if she could learn to understand literature written with thee's, thou's, and thine's, she could learn to read anything.
When she attended a school of fine arts, she was forced to read 'The Grapes of Wrath' by John Steinbeck. She discovered her interest in reading while attending that tenth grade literature class, and from there, she cultivated her imagination through books.
L.A. has admitted to taking example from her father who attributes his intelligence as self taught, simply through reading anything he could get his hands on.
She waited until she was 39 years old before she wrote her first book, and swears that since the experience was so satisfying, she will continue to write until she is eighty nine.
