Up and coming I don't know about that been writing since I was eleven, freelancing the last eight years and self employed for 15.
I am in the process of Publishing my premier Novel "DIARY OF A BBW". I would say I am a Literary Entrepreneur! And a story teller...love to read and be read!

I am the youngest child of a Baptist preacher and School teacher, wasn't a large leap to find a way to use all my inate and learned skills. I have been writing poetry since age eleven . And I did all the stereotypical things if you know you want to be a writer. I started writing for my High School newspaper straight thru college, taking Creative writing classes where-ever. I majored in Mass Communication's but found a love for Journalism and Writing for Radio,TV and Film...One day I will get to use all that I have prepared for.
My Mom and Dad kept books all around us growing up. As the last bird in the nest and a bit of a "precocious attitude" I was alone in my room a lot with books. I knew when I wrote my first poem about my Great Grandmother "Big Momma's Gone" it was essential to my spirit! Writing for me is like breathing, eating and drinking...I have to do it! I do it for free...But thank God there are still people willilng to pay me to do what I love. I just hope to share that love with the masses! Maya Angelou, Gwendolyn Brooks, Margaret Walker were a few of my influences back in the day when I knew I could do nothing that didn't involve me writing and story telling... My contemporary favorites Omar Tyree, Walter Mosley, Mary Monroe, Ashan Hampton, Bebe Moore Campbell, Pearl Cleage to name a few are the reason I will do this til I die!
