Alexander DeMarcus, a dedicated father of four, is a published author of the novels The Corporate Genius and The Whipping Man. Mr. DeMarcus quit he job at Ford Motor Company a few years ago to devote all of his time to writing full time. In addition, Mr. DeMarcus is a former minister of the gospel, and a certified martial arts instructor through Kukki Won, the Tae Kwon Do Federation in Korea. He was also an honor student at Northwood University, where he made the deans list numerous times.
Mr. DeMarcus served twelve years in the US Army field bands, where he sat as lead trumpeter and principle oboist for both the jazz and concert bands, respectively. He spent nine months of his twelve year military career in combat during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
After leaving the military, he took a temporary position as principle trumpeter with the DWSO (Detroit Wind Symphony Orchestra). Mr. DeMarcus is also a musical author, whose musical CD Late Bloomer was published in 2001.
As a performer with over 28 years of entertaining experience, Alexander DeMarcus has had the pleasure of traveling to many countries, most of which were travels to Europe and Asia. As a professional recording artist, Mr. DeMarcus has literally performed around the world, yet at the present, he mainly performs throughout the Midwestern states and locally in the Greater Detroit area.
His CD, which is affectionately entitled, Late Bloomer sold more than 23,000 copies. His CD was published under his stage name Diamond Steele. In addition, Mr. DeMarcus also teaches music theory of both the jazz and classical genres in his spare time, as well as maintaining his membership in the Michigan Musician’s Union.
