I write paranormal/horror/thriller. Does it infest my mind? Yes, it does, because I actually dream about it, as well. Right now, my brain is on file duty for all of the ideas I've been coming up with. If I could only clone myself, I'd get more of my books on paper sooner.

Background Information

LYNN MULLICAN was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona.  She is married and has three children, two daughters and one son.  Her family, including her husband, children, mother and stepfather has continuously supported her dream to write throughout her entire life.

Starting from the early age of 7 years old, she began to write short stories and soon developed a love for the art.  At 12 years old, she submitted a short story to her school for a Creative Writing competition and took 1st Place.  Throughout her teenage years, she continued to write short stories.  At the age of 14, her love of the art took a strong turn towards the theatrical when she started writing scripts, plays and poetry.  In high school, she attended Drama and Journalism, fulfilling some of her desires to leap into un-chartered territories.  She wrote a short play that was performed during her Drama class by her peers and received continuous support from her Drama teacher.  In 1984, her Drama teacher introduced her to a local play-writer, Dorothy Seiffert, who graciously read over one of Lynn's scripts and gave her tremendous praise in a handwritten letter.

Although, she had developed a fascination with the paranormal; vampires, werewolves, ghosts, goblins and ghouls at an early age, it grew tremendously during her high school years when she did a research paper on Bram Stoker's Dracula.  She checked out as many research books as she could from the local library and delved further into the ancestry of the paranormal.  Lynn credits this research paper as a gateway further into the horror genre of which she received an A.  This also happened to be the same year she got called into the principal's office for a short story she had loaned to a friend to read.  During her conversation with the principal, he not only reprimanded her for bringing such a graphic and horrifying story to school, but also complimented and supported her work in the same sentence.

In 1985 she met her husband and married him two years later.  They had three children together and she stayed home to take care of them in their early years.  During this time, Lynn wrote several poems that were published; In Memory and Waking Up One Morning in 1987, A Baby Poem in 1989, 1990 and 1996, The Violent Mind in 1993, The Demon of Love, Mother!, and Night of Intrusion in 1996, and Possession-Obsession in 2000.  During this time, she also took a Creative Writing course through the British-American School of Writing.

Lynn's writing was put on hiatus while she raised her children, worked and maintained a busy life.  She worked at Discover Financial Services for 8 years and received several promotions within Merchant Fraud and Business Technology.  As Senior Merchant Investigator Specialist, she also researched and compiled Profile Reports for Federal Government Officials.

She also attended University of Phoenix and Paradise Valley Community College for Information Technology, and soon found herself shifting careers as jobs in the technology field were being outsourced.

In 1998 she and her family met their soon to be Martial Arts instructor, when she took her daughter down for her first class.  Before they knew it, the entire family was soon training in the Martial Art of Chinese Kenpo with the Red Dragons Arizona Self Defense Systems, under the direction of Sifu Denis Wooten.  She has performed numerous demonstrations with the Red Dragon Demo Team and has taken 1st and 3rd Place for Kata in tournaments throughout the state.  She has years of extensive knowledge in self defense and martial arts under her belt.

In 2005, she began work for the State of Arizona's Industrial Commission.  She is the Supervisor of the Research and Statistics Department, a division that researches, compiles and reports data for the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.  In 2007, she attended and received her Professional Degree at the Arizona School of Massage Therapy, working part time with her own private practice.
