I have been a writer most of my life. A creative writing class was the catalyst which directed me to many years of poety, prose, and editing. Being compulsively driven to write has many blessings as well as demons. Please enjoy my work.

I have five years experience in editing and managing a weekly column of community poetry for Yuma Daily Sun in Yuma, AZ. During that time I learned more about my craft and how to judge a poet's merit while making a friend of the poet.
Now don't laugh, that is no easy task. Ask any editor. Also, I have spear-headed two writer's support groups, one of which offered poetry seminars to aspiring writers.

I try to let my words stand on their own. Largely self-taught, I have enjoyed an association with writing that has carried me through the sometimes trying times of life. The poetry is not overly long, creating a trying read for the novice. My work is diverse. I feel that poets who write only of one thing, one way, are limiting their creativity. As a discipline, I often write several takes on one subject, then selecting the one I feel is best suited to what I wished to convey.
Working with young people is a truely satisfying part of that life.
I try to keep my writing controlled, aiming for all readers to enjoy and understand. Some may feel it to be "simple" but it is not. There is always to be found a reason for the words. That is the reward of the write.
