I am a teacher of middle school mathematics in Jacksonville, Florida. I enjoy working with youth and write about their time in life when they are struggling with personal issues, powerful emotions, and discovering who they are. My students inspire my work.
NEW! Tiger Claws, the story of a 14-year old boy, born in the city, lost in the forest. How will he learn to survive? Can he overcome the rage that drives him to find a home with the people who found him? Then he must face the ultimate challenge--a murderous tiger.
Previous work, published under the penname Alaric Jaxartes. Rush Week tells the story of a college freshman who pledges a fraternity and finds that they don't want him, but need him to quit because of his connections with past members. Tattered Flags tells the story of a Boy Scout troop that enters a state forest to clean up dumping and finds themselves in the middle of a controversy about their work.
Tattered Flags won a P.O.W. award. I have another unpublished manuscript, Power In the Blood, that also won a P.O.W. award.
