I call it 'cultured' shaped and formed by the great artists in the fields of dance, visual arts, music, museum making, writers, actors, producers, radio personalities in Chicago. Found the Urban stew, I have been influenced by Blues great Billy Branch, Jazz great, the late Malachi Thompson, museum founders Margaret Burroughs and Peggy Montes, dancer Darlene Blackburn, writers, Sterling Plumpp, Kelly Norman Ellis, the late Gwendolyn Brooks, visual artists Turtel Onli, Preston Jackson, Makeba K.DuBose. But the primary motivation behind my writing in is the city of Chicago and its diverse people.
