In my free time, I write. And in my not so free time, I teach Martial Arts and run a successful Martial Arts school along with my husband, in Florida.
It is such an interesting journey for me to introduce students of all ages to these disciplines of mind and body. We offer Taekwondo, Haedong Kumdo (sword art), Bo staff and Nunchakus, and Tai Chi. All of these martial arts bring awesome character growth as our students learn the amazing things they can accomplish with the knowledge and training that they receive.
I train daily and believe that one of the main tenets for life improvement that will maintain a high level of health, is one that many in the Asian culture also adhere to;
and that is to keep that body moving!
I am also an award winning long time fine artist in the mediums of water color, oil and acrylic painting with my paintings included in private collections coast to coast. I love wildlife and horses, and could paint them all day long if I had the time.
I also try to write daily and love the feeling of stepping into another world while I am doing so. My favorite genre is horror and thrillers. I love being able to be a good 'host' to my readers and lead them on a scary journey, allowing them the freedom of being able to step out (by putting the book, or ereader down) of the tale, catch their breath and resume at any time. Isn't it great to have such control over a facet of our lives? Yes! Very much so!
And when I am not at my studio teaching, or writing, that is what I love to do; read, read and read, when I have the time.
(Check out what Stephen King has to say in his book, "On Writing; a Memoir of the Craft", about his views on the benefits of his four mile walks he would take to help his mind produce those fantastic stories!)
I also play violin and piano, and love it when I can find the time to indulge in these instruments.
My life revolves around my family, whom I love dearly, along with my two Pomeranians, the arts---martial arts, fine arts and literary arts and.................
.time.
