I've been fortunate enough to be able to combine my two passions: writing and helping people. In my non-writing life, I'm a medical social worker with a background in working with victims of physical and psychological trauma. My current job, however, is at a nursing facility specializing in the care of those with Alzheimer's disease. In my writing life, I maintain the "Lesbian Issues" topic at Suite101.com. My short fiction has appeared in Weber Studies, and my articles have appeared in local newsletters as well as on the now-defunct Magi21.com. My first young adult novel, Visiting Grandma, was recently published through Booklocker.com.

Informational packet, "What To Do After a Trauma Occurs" won the Missouri Hospital Association Award in 1999.

My young adult novel, Visiting Grandma, was published through Booklocker.com in April, 2003. It tells the story of a teenage boy struggling with his grandmother's Alzheimer's diagnosis and his stepfather's abuse. Visiting Grandma is available as an ebook ($6.95) or trade paperback ($12.95).
