I have always been most engaged by the horror genre. As an English major in college, I won over a few skeptical professors with essays on the literary merits of works by authors such as Stephen King and Peter Straub.
The drive to write has always been within me. However, I have been very successful at finding excuses not to carry through on the impulse. With the completion of Bloom's Desk, I have energized that drive and feel compelled to continue with another novel, which I have begun. It is, of course, a horror novel.
