I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1968, but I didn't stay there for long. As the son of a navy pilot, I hop-scotched from place to place for the first eighteen years of my life, spending time in California, Hawaii, Maryland, Italy, Florida, Korea, Florida (again), southern Virginia, northern Virginia, and, finally, Portugal, in roughly that order. I graduated from the American International School in Lisbon, Portugal in 1986.
I began writing novels to bring the realism of my technical experience (chemistry and nuclear engineering) and my extensive travels to the thriller genre. My first novel, The Genesis Key, takes readers on a breakneck race through history, from ancient Mesopotamia to mid-century Iraq to modern Washington, DC, on a quest for a breakthrough technology that will profoundly change human life. The Genesis Key is fundamentally a science thriller, but it has an intriguing religious twist and a compelling Washington, DC backdrop.
