Sandy writes passionately about grief and loss.

Background Information

I lost my husband and best friend in 1999. I felt totally lost with no idea what to do next. For several years I just felt stuck in my grief. I could not seem to move forward, although I did a lot of physical moving to 3 different states.

I filled many journals during this period of my life. While it seemed to help temporarily, I seemed to be stuck in the same loops of pain and loss.

A few years later, while reviewing these journals, deciding whether to discard them, I began to see a pattern and a process that seemed to recur. But it was hidden within the scattered writings of grief.

I decided to dissect what I saw within these journals and formulate an interactive journal for grievers that allowed for personal freedom and choice but also had some structure to it.

One complaint I had during the early years of grief was a sense of not getting anywhere. I hear that from other grievers as well.

My Move Beyond Grief Journal provides grievers with the structure and tools they need to move through their grief process in an individual way but also with the knowledge that they are not alone.

Birth Place
Taos, NM USA
Accomplishments

Moving to the other side of grief and finding my way to serve.

Additional Information

I am currently nearing completion of an ebook that is an introductory guide to the grieving process. I am also nearing completion of my memoir covering the time period from my husband's death to the present, which includes my new adventures of living off grid in a house I built myself.
