In 1956 at the age of 20 I received a BS in Occupational Therapy from NY University. I returned years later to complete a PhD in Occupational Therapy in 1986. My career in OT spanned many years, working with patients of every description, then turning to teaching, administration and writing.
Having written several text books on occupational therapy, and a regular column on therapeutic activities in a professional publication since 1994, I began a column on writing memoirs. This quickly morphed into my own memoir of my childhood and young adulthood in Brooklyn in the 1940’s and 50’s, published this year as Brooklyn Roots: A tale of pickles and egg creams.
Personal reviews I received on the book have been requesting (sometimes demanding) that I continue the story, which I have begun to do. So far, so good.
