Elizabeth Van Ness is a former broadcast journalist, long-time writer and editor, and life-long believer in Santa Claus. She spent many years in Southern California and currently lives and writes in Chicago, Illinois.

As an active volunteer and board member for many community-based organizations, Elizabeth Van Ness has a special interest in projects that can create economic and outreach opportunities for non-profit groups and the communities they serve. I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS is the first of a series of picture books planned for 2011-13 which will carry positive messages and support organizations working to benefit children and underserved populations. A Spanish-language edition of I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS is currently in development; it will be translated and illustrated by youth in after-school and summer programs, and those youth and their mentor-teachers will select the charities the book's sales will benefit.
