Hi - I'm Dianne. Writing non-fiction, with more than 1000 articles appearing in most of the major women's and family consumer magazines (Family Circle, Woman's Day, Ladies' Home Journal, Family Fun, Seventeen, Oxygen, Parenting, and others) and author of 7 books including my latest digital edition - A Writer's Guide to Gettin Published in Magazines -I write as Dianne DeSpain and JJ Despain.(www.DianneDeSpain.com) Writing fiction, with 30 books published by Harlequin Mills & Boon, I specialize in medical romantic drama, and write under the name Dianne Drake, (www.DianneDrake.com).
So, why do I write? Honestly, I can't remember a time when I didn't write. When I was young, maybe five, I was a poet. By the time I was in the middle grades, I knew I was the next, great short story writer. Then, in high school, my short stories got longer and even took on a more mature feeling to them. College saw me writing again, but the amazing thing there was that I majored in music first time around, then went back to nursing school. And naturally, I was writing then - medical articles. It seems like writing is what I've always done, no matter where I'm going or what my career path. I suppose it only makes sense that I eventually made writing my career path.
