B.D.'s background is in music education. While she has always enjoyed writing, being a music teacher taught her about writing a lot in a short time. (She had to put a sentence long comment on 750 report cards 3 terms per year.)
The story writing bug really bit her when she had a son of her own. Between volunteering in the school library and reading children's stories at night, she started to develop a desire to have a story that was all her own. She wanted a story that she could share with her son.
The Milky Way Metro was hatched during the hours of waiting that every parent experiences. Waiting for the child at the after school pick up line. Waiting for the child to finish his music lesson. Waiting for the child to finish every sport imaginable. Waiting for the child.... I put the waiting time to good use by working on my story.
In April of 2011, I lost my job at an insurance company. There was no time like the present to jump into indie publishing. I am enjoying the adventure. While it is not a lucrative as insurance, it is much, much more satisfying.
