I'm a journalist and novelist. My debut novel, The Year of the Gadfly (Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt, May 2012) is based on a major cheating scandal my younger brother exposed at his prestigious prep school and tragedy from my own high school years. It features an aspiring journalist, whose only friend is the ghost of Edward Murrow, a cyncial microbiologist, fleeing the ghosts of his past, and an albino teen who is preyed upon by a group of artist misfits.
I've written for the New York Times, the Washington Post Magazine, the Christian Science Monitor, Marie Claire, the Daily Beast, and a number of other publications. I'm originally from Washginton, DC and now live in Brooklyn with all the other writers.
