Shawntrell, was born in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma in May of 1974, she has a twin and of 13 siblings, 8 boys 6 girls 14 total. She was raised in a single-parent home and was brought up in extreme poverty, and abuse both verbally and physical.
At the age of twelve while at home alone, and without utilities Shawntrell was led to the Bible laying on the coffee table, which she recalls was her grandmother’s. She came to the scripture Psalms 27:10 which reads: When my father and my mother forsake me, then t's he LORD will take me up.
Shawntrell says that this Scripture caused her to feel a warmth and an acceptance that she had never in her life felt from anyone or anything This interned caused her to read more of the Bible, which led her to accepting Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve.
Just a few years later, Shawntrell was put out on the streets at the age of 15 to fend for herself, this had happen several times earlier, but this time was permanent. There was times when she went without food for a period of 2 weeks straight, yet recalls that she neither grew tired nor did she grow weak.
During this time on the streets, Shawntrell slept in vacant houses, parks on occasions and every now and then was able to sleep on the floor at a friend’s house or some of the relatives who had their own place but were teenagers themselves, but no one offered her a permanent home, so most of the time she did sleep on and off of the street.
At the age of 16 Shawntrell became pregnant and at about 7 months pregnant she went to live with her older brother who was 18 and his girlfriend. Shawntrell gave birth to her son Kendrick, who died at the age of 3 months from S.I.D.S. Shawntrell struggled with this for a long time in ways that she had never discussed with anyone but God.
Shawntrell was able to get a job and then get her own place, in time she met her first love, had another son who is 20-years old today. Shawntrell got divorced from her first love years later and was a single parent. A few years later Shawntrell ended up in an abusive relationship where she received a broken jaw, and was nearly strangled to death. During this time Shawntrell had several divine experiences that caused here to think different, and made here more aware of God’s presence, yet she says this was only the beginning of such experiences.
At the age of twenty-seven, having only an 7th-grade education Shawntrell walked into a college to be enrolled, however they told her that she must have a High school diploma to be enrolled. Shawntrell says, she looked the woman in the eyes and told her she would be back. Shawntrell then went to a local college where they allowed testing- out for her high school diploma. Shawntrell signed up and indeed received her High-school diploma and tested above average in several areas.
Shawntrell then went on to graduate from college with a 3.47 GPA and was rewarded with several awards Dean’s Honor Roll Summer -2001, Director’s Honor Roll January- 2002; May - 2002; and September- 2002 and Honorary Awards Excelsior Propter Award Wills, Trust and Estate planning; Fall- 2001; Excelsior Propter Award ,Research &Writing II Winter 2002. Shawntrell was hired as a paralegal the day of her graduation.
Shawntrell later married again and moved to Memphis, which is where she suffered extreme abuse and marital rape at the hands of her husband. In this environment Shawntrell was plagued with sickness, and suffered a near miscarriage of her son. It was in this abuse that Shawntrell heard from the Lord that she would write a book, and although Shawntrell suffered for a time longer in this abuse, she held on to that Word.
When shawntrell finally got out of the marriage, she lost her son to the ex-husband simply because of the lack of funds. In this Shawntrell wrote hundreds of letters to DHS, the local news, and even the attorney general in Memphis, all to no avail. This is still an ongoing process for Shawntrell even today.
Through the pains and injustice that Shawntrell had suffered she began to draw even closer to God to spend more time with Him, and this is where she says her life took a tremendous turn for the better. She began to pray and go to church, and many miraculous things began to happen. She heard the voice of the Lord say that her wealth is in her writing. So in this she stepped out on faith and began to write the book that the Lord had told her to write, 5 years earlier while in the midst of the abusive marriage.
As Shawntrell began to write, miraculous things began to happen. As she wrote she spent more time in the Word of God and praying for help from God. It was at this time she was led to a prayer call –called the Life and The Word Pray Call with Host Alfreda Bradford. In doing this Shawntrell begin to hear from the Lord very frequent, instructing her to speak.
After doing that she receive more word to be a prayer warrior. Then after obeying that Shawntrell was then led to minister the Word of God on the call from time to time. Shawntrell says all this was backed as the Host of the call Ms. Bradford would suddenly call her up and asked her to do the very thing that the Lord had put in her heart, so Shawntrell says this was affirmation for her.
Shawntrell says, that it was on this call on a particular day when the where ending the call in pray as the always did, and as The Host Alfreda Bradford was the one closing this day, and as she began to pray, Shawntrell says that she began to speak in another language, which she thought was her simply praying in the spirit. She says that she continued to do this for the duration of the call. When Shawntrell got off the call this day she began to speak in another language this lasted for approximately 1 ½ .
Shawntrell was clear that she was praying for others and then she knew that she was repenting for something she had done, although she didn’t understand the language that came from her mouth. Shawntrell says she tearfully repented and then the most amazing thing happened. The Lord said something to her Spirit that caused her to laugh, and she intern spoke back in the Spirit and laughed, and she knew that her Heavenly Father was laughing with her.
The following day Shawntrell got on the call and she told the callers about what happened. The call went on as usual and then at the end of that call The Host, Alfreda Bradford had ended in prayer again, this day. As the call ended Shawntrell began to speak in another language again uncontrollably she did this for the duration of the call. After the call ended Shawntrell went on and had a workout she came in and sat on her bed just to check her e-mail and as she began to say thank you Jesus as she always does, it was at this time that the languages fell upon her. Shawntrell was given various languages this day. Shawntrell spoke in several languages that are unknown to her in the natural. She also sang songs in three different languages which she still does today.
After this, no one knew, but for almost 2 weeks Shawntrell struggled to speak English which is her native language. Shawntrell began to cry out to God because she did not understand what was going on and why she was speaking these languages. So Shawntrell began to pray according to scriptures, asking to interpret the languages and to understand them. It was two days after this that a woman got on the call and she spoke forth that the Lord had spoken to her about a couple of women on the call. She called Shawntrell’s name and she responded. The woman prophesied to Shawntrell telling her that the Lord had told her that she desired to interpret languages, the woman went on to tell Shawntrell that she would indeed speak these languages and that the God wanted her to tell her that she was a ready writer of God. The woman then prophesied to Shawntrell, telling her that the Lord said she would write many books, many songs and poetry. She said that the languages would be used, and writings as well to speak spiritual life into many people. This confirmed what the Lord had last spoken to Shawntrell that upon the other spiritual gifts that she had the gift of a ruler.
Shawntrell received that prophecy and as she moved forth in obedience and in faith the books begin to flow. Shawntrell has been given 12 books to write as the Lord speaks them to her she writes them down and she moves to the book He instructs her to write next. Shawntrell’s Book “Woman Submit Under Man’s Mission Not Under His foot, hit the market 02/26/12. Her Second book “ My Son God’s Redeemed” is now on the market and Shawntrell has just completed writing her third book "Sought Out" One being a 7-book series that she has begun writng. Shawntrell was also asked by a group of authors to collaborate on a book “From Poverty to Prosperity yet Living Holy.” This book is now on the market!
With this Shawntrell has been given from the Lord two inventions and a celebration that the Lord has placed on her heart to bring to fruition.
Shawntrell continues to move forth in serving the Lord, reaching out to people, serving in her church and writing what the Lords placed in the heart. Encouraging the Revival of the Imagination.
