I had trouble learning to read when I started school. So that made me try harder with my reading and by the time I was in middle school I loved reading. The first novel I read was 'Gone With the Wind.' I was thirteen at the time and it took me a whole summer to read this book. Although I loved reading, I didn't like to write. I remember writing a poem, which was an assignment given to me. The teacher called me up to her desk, I thought I was in trouble, but she told me my poem was very good and asked me if she could have it. Of course, I told her yes. I was shocked. I could write!
I didn't start to write seriously until my later years. Now I have the writing bug and can't stop. I have about thirty manuscripts started on my computer. I wake in the morning sometimes with a whole book idea in my head and I have to get to the computer to write down notes and sometimes I write the first chapter.
It's funny I had a hard time learning to read and now I have three books published. I have come to the conclusion that when you have a difficult time in a certain area you should check it out, maybe it's God pointing a finger trying to get your attention.
