I began journaling as an adolescent, which provided me with insight and comfort. I soon added poetry, short stories, and unpublished novels to help me "talk" about and cope with child abuse, alcholic family history, untimely deaths, and health issues. When I heard the words "You have cancer" I journaled almost every day. Those pages became a published book with the intent to inform/educate women and their families; to offer inspiration and hope; and to share the resources I used to help me through this difficult time.
We all have challenges to face in our lives; no one is immune; therefore, we can all learn from each other how to grow and be better people. "The beauty of the soul, the real me and the real you, outshines the effects of cancer..." or any other challenge with which we are confronted.
Because ovarian cancer is the deadliest form of any women's reproductive cancer, and there is so little information about it, proceeds from the sale of the book go to ovarian cancer research (info@ocrf.org).
