Writing has taken me into my soul. I am constantly surprised with what I find there. It is my hope and prayer that at least one person will connect with what I put to paper.

Background Information

I believe writing has been in my blood since childhood. It started with a love for being read to then learning the skill of reading on my own. I found it difficult to express myself verbally (the shy curse) so I would periodically put to paper what my lips could not say. Years ago in high school I had an awesome literature teacher, Mrs. White who was delighted with what I produced on paper and encouraged me to continue writing. That was the first time in my life I felt I had a talent to be nurtured. However, for the most part, I quit writing when my children were born and actually didn't pick it up again until I went through a major clinical depression a few years ago. At that time, the need to express myself led me to my computer where I started writing the story of my firstborn child's heart defect and untimely death. Writing aided considerably in my healing process, and I haven't been able to stop writing since.

Birth Place

My short story, "My Great Aunt" will appear in the second volume of a new inspirational anthology by Allison Gappa Bottke, "God Allows U Turns, More Stories of Hope and Healing" to be released in the fall of 2001.

I was formerly a contributing author at where I wrote a weekly column. Additionally, my work has appeared in Wisehearts-Weaving Small Wisdoms, an uplifting e-zine edited by Terri McPherson and, for the month of December 2000, I was the featured writer for the "A Literary Review" part of Suite 101 edited by Betty Pine.

Additional Information

About a year ago, I had a brainstorm for a book which I am in the process of creating, and, with perseverance and God's help, I hope to see it to completion within the next two years.
