My first  letters or poems were just to God expressing my deepest concerns and feelings; at a time when I couldn't let anyone know it was me. So I wrote my deepest feelings down and signing them with the alias of Ticara Love.  

My influences in life came from two very dear mentors and  friends Mrs. Larry and Mrs. Dillon (where ever they are "Thanks"), who told me that it was okay to walk to a different drummer.  It only goes to show the world how special each us are,  in our own way.  I also give credit  to my father for constantly voicing the importance of knowing our heritage, reading everything and getting a sound education. 

 But as an adult my influences came from people like Maya Angelos for insight & depth,  Bill Cosby for humor, Iyana Vazant for self realization & confidence and many other who has helped encourage me to share my story with the world.  Also my Grandfather and Mother for never stopped loving me (Heavenly Blessings). 

Prayers go out my children and grandchildren, who have been my greatest strength and inspiration, next to God.
