Carol M Chapman focuses on human and animal interactions in her stories and essays. She draws on her own experiences and expresses the wonder of nature in her pieces.
When Chapman sold her home in Connecticut, she soon found herself on one of those roads less traveled...and that has made all the difference. Arriving in Texas, she bought a ranch and created The Last Refuge, a sanctuary for unwanted dogs, cats, goats, and, most of all, for horses, mules, and donkeys that had been destined for the slaughterhouse. A lot of her pieces reflect the sense of wonder she has when interacting with the others that share this world with us.
