I've been scolded by my wife of 20 years for listing some of the activities that I engaged in before meeting her, so I'll not go there. I was, however, part of a seriously dysfunctional family and I suppose when a child survives such emotional and mental trauma and comes out reasonably stable, there is bound to be outlet in which that childs finds solitude and comfort. Horror movies and fiction were mine. My imagination flourished during those years and - regardless of my allegations of becoming senile - hasn't yet shown signs of faltering.
