|
This is the author's first work of fiction, though his writing experience covers a variety of non-fiction fields from advertising (as a writer and illustrator) to business plans for land development projects.
He has enjoyed a broad eclectic range of reading over the years, that includes classic literature as well as science fiction and fantasy. Thus, as a boy he felt comfortable with such diverse fellow Missourians as Mark Twain and Robert A. Heinlein.

Jim LeMay’s first published novel, The Shadow of Armageddon, is his first work of fiction, though his writing experience covers a variety of non-fiction fields, varying from advertising (as a writer and illustrator for a reprint publishing company) to business plans for various types of businesses. He has had many vocations, often considered a requisite for writers of SF. Following the dictum, "Write about what you know," he has worked at many of the jobs and professions his characters follow--bartender (and, with his wife, owned a tavern), homebrewer, land surveyor, civil engineer and land developer--and he's done a few things his characters haven't. Most importantly, he's a native Missourian, which enables him to know his characters intimately. Jim LeMay currently lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Nyla, and two cats, Akiko and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Son Mike, his wife Cathy and the author's three superior grandchildren somehow survive the winters of nrthern Wyoming, and son Matt thrives in New York City.
