have a very strong faith in God, he is always present in my life. He has given me the ability to be strong,
independent and has given hope for every new day. I lost my Father at the age of 18, and watching my
Mother I learned how to have dignity and grace through any diversity. My Mother was a driving force
behind everything I do, a truly beautiful woman with immense courage and strength, dignity and grace.
Along with my sisters, I helped to care for my mother until she lost her battle with cancer. Although some
may think that these were the worst of times they were in fact the best of times. I got to see my mother in a
different light. She was more than my Mother, she was my friend. I learned a lot about her during these
many months and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Her final words to me were, "Promise me Mary Jane,
that you will only remember the good, not the bad", and I believe I have done that. Thanks Mom for
everything.
