Richelle Putnam has earned her Fiction Writing Certificate through New York's Gotham Writers Fiction Certificate Program. She has graduated three Institute of Children's Literature courses, the Advanced Writing Program of Open College for the Arts, Writer's Digest Novel Writing Course, Gotham Writer’s Advanced Poetry Course, and Gotham Writer’s Playwriting Course, Anastasia Suen's Rhyming Picture Book Online Course, Poetry Kit of Liverpool England’s Advanced Poetry Course, and Poetry Kit of Liverpool England’s Advanced Nature Poetry Course. She has completed Sara Light’s Creating Lyrical Contrast Course, Danny Arena’s Composer Bag of Tricks Course, Danny Arena’s Essential Music Theory for Songwriters, Margaret Shauers Writing For Children Online Course, and Scott Wiggerman's Poetry Online Course. A speaker, writer, songwriter, and musician, she has won awards in various categories of fiction, memoir, poetry, and songwriting, including American Songwriter Magazine and Song of the Year. Her works have been published in online and print magazines, newspapers, literary journals, and anthologies, including Cup of Comfort Books, Flashquake, World Wide Writers, Appleseeds, Hopscotch for Girls, Boys Quest, and more. Richelle instructs all ages on the craft of writing, and facilitates one-day workshops and four to six-week courses on all writing. She has been an artist-in-residence at schools and Girls Scouts of America, facilitated journaling sessions in prison settings with incarcerated women, worked in libraries, Headstart Programs, and Boys and Girls Clubs. Her original songs have been played on many radio stations, including #1 Internet Station Iradio LA, Skope Magazine Radio, BandRadio, Vancouver Canada’s Banana Peel Radio, Midnight Special Blues Hour, Woman of Substance Radio, WomensRadio, Acoustic Fuel Radio, Radio Crystal Blue, and Dr. Lou’s Blues Radio.
