I got into writing in high school when a teacher taught us about poetry and made us write poems of our own. Ever since then I've written poetry. I sometimes find myself uninspired to write. I recently got out of a funk that had lasted years. I don't know if I have any particular influences beyond all the little details of my entire life. I enjoy poets like Walt Whitman and Byron but I don't know that I have a favorite. My own poetry doesn't follow any style I know of. I just write what I feel like when I feel like it. And it often comes out as poetry.

I have a poem published in one of Poetry.com's compilation books. Big whoop.

My own favorite poem I wrote would have to be "whipsers" because it has a lot of meaning for me.
