Dr. Morin holds a Ph.D. in physics, and reads more than fifty novels a year. His favorite authors, and major influences are Pat Conroy, John Irving, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul. What has resulted is a PG-13 look at how a real Christian transformation looks in our world, with all the mess associated with it and none of the naivete of a ten-minute altar-call life turnaround. Each of his books features one true Christian, surrounded by the real world, and one character who undergoes a major religious transformation.

The book has been both praised and criticized for its blunt, straightforward approach to teenage lust, aangst, and rebellion, and the counter forces of faith, hope, and love. Makes a great gift for anyone in their late teens or early twenties.
