Frederik Weller was born in the Netherlands. During the war years, he lived in the Dutch province of Noord Brabant. As a young boy, his family immigrated to the United States, where he attended public schools. Weller earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Utah and an M.A. in Business and Personnel Management from Central Michigan University.
He served in the U.S. Army and had a long and rewarding career in the U.S. Air Force where he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. Weller was decorated seven times, including the Air Force Achievement Medal for humanitarian action following a hotel fire in the Philippines. He continued to serve the United States as an international agreements negotiator and political and military affairs officer after his retirement. He is the author of Always Courage (Toujours l'Audace) and The Maelstrom, A Memoir.
