Winner of the "SPIT" on-line poetry competition sponsored by "DEF Poetry Jam" and "BET". Her work has been published in several mediums and she continues to feature and speak at conferences, events and venues.
She is the Founder, Executive Director and host of the "Dancin' Tongues Artist Showcase", a non-profit, grass-root community-based organization. The primary goal for "DT" is providing a free platform for artists to gain wider exposure.
As the Founder and CEO of MIRAJ Publishing & Design, which has become a beacon for many minorities seeking publication, L.D. continues to release one or two titles a year.
Under the direction and leadership of L.D. Stewart, the mission for "SAAWA" ~ Self-published, African-American Women Authors Alliance~ continues to be a well-spring of resources and support for the growing community of African-American women who are publishing and self-published.
