I am a published author of short stories and poems. My major influences are people who I befriended back in my 'hippy' days. Margaret Atwood, bill bissett, and many others now far more famous than I.
I am a University grad. with a B.A. and a double major in Creative Writing and History. I currently work as a Genealogist for the Metis Nation of B.C. and also write a monthly feature (historical fiction) in a gloss magazine, Kewetin (or Whispering Winds in English).
Most of my writing is focused on the topics of inequality and women's rights. However, I try to interject some humor into almost everything I write.
As a young women I graduated University with a degree in Theater -Costume Design- and works throughout the 60's and 70's in both theater and film, married, had three children and divorced.I then re-married and returned to University. I became a Social Worker and was located in northern Canadian settlements for most of the late 80's and early 90's. Emotionally exhausted, I returned to school yet again and completed my latest endeavor in 2000.
My children are grown, I now have grandchildren, and the contentment of old age has finally overtaken me. I am, however, still a passionate spokesperson for the poor and disenfranchised and a firm believer in the importance of education.
I am not a stogie old lady...the 60's seen to that.
I hope to learn from the other authors on this site and look forward to this new experience.
