I have been writing all of my life but only over the past few years have I decided to take my writing into publication. Which I enjoy immensely and more than happy that I decided to take the steps. Although at times it can be very hard work the enjoyment which I get out of it compansates for that.
During the time that I worked as a children's nanny I spent many a hour thinking up stories to tell the children, which they loved to hear as with not always having the time to write them down I kept them in mind. Later on in my life after my own children flew the nest I found that I had more time on my hands and my garden and home inspired me to write more and get into publication.
I could never see myself giving talks but after my book was published I was invited to the local school to give a talk on my work. My Granddaughter was so excited at the thoughts of my visit to her school I couldn't let her down. Although very nervous on my arrival wodering if I had practised to the full extent that I should but realizing that it was all to late to think of that, I went into my first class and to my surprise after only a few minutes I was finding it to be most enjoyable. This was only the start as I was then invited to other schools and to the local book shops on signing sessions. Appearing on local television, radio and newspapers giving interviews.
It as all been well worth it and I'm hoping that it continues for a few years to come.
