BOOK DETAILS
"Peake's explanation of your immortality is
the most innovative and provocative I have seen."
- Dr. Bruce Greyson
Carlson Professor of Psychiatry, University of Virginia
& Editor of the Journal of Near-Death Studies
My latest book started as an investigation into the phenomenon usually known by the term 'deja vu'. As I had experienced these strange sensations many times I was interested to know what caused them. I was surprised to discover that there is no real explanation for that feeling that you have lived this moment before. This was to start me on a journey that was to take me to the wonders and mysteries of quantum physics, the oddites of conscious experience and the fascinating world of the temporal lobe epileptic. However what I hadn't planned on was accidently finding a possible, and fully scientific, explanation as to what happens to human consciousness at the point of death. The influences on the book are far ranging and extremely eclectic. Writers such as Jorge Borges, Fedyr Dosteovsky, Petyr Ouspensky, Oliver Sacks, Antonio Damasio, Colin Wilson, Kenneth Ring, Melvin Morse, Philip K Dick, J B Priestley and movies such as Groundhog Day, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, Jacob's Ladder, The Matrix Series and Total Recall all are pointers to my theory, a theory I call "CHEATING THE FERRYMAN".
A REQUEST
I am researching the background to my second book. This will be called 'The Daemon of Creativity' and will be an expansion on an area touched upon in my first book. I intend to analyse how some creative people are inspired and guided by a 'muse' that seems external to their everyday consciousness. This guide helps by giving inspiration through dreams, hunches etc. I am keen for any writers who have experienced such a phenomenon to please contact me via my website. I am particularly interested in those writers who have epilepsy or migraine.

"This is the only book that I know of to approach the nature of reality and the afterlife in a truly holistic way. Congratulations Mr Peake on a most outstanding and valuable piece of work."

"this is an excellent and thought provoking read; very well researched and very well written. I thoroughly recommend this book to all, with this proviso; don't blindly believe what the author states - read slowly and methodically to take in the arguments as they are presented, then make up your own mind.
