I have always found I could display my emotions through my words, my love and my ambition to be the best I can be. My words are something I would like to leave my family with, when I am long gone and hopefully it will add to their life, making them realize that life can be as wonderful as you make it, all you have to do is BELIEVE in yourself. I believe in my heart and soul that when people read what I have written, they too will feel the message I am giving, and hopefully make a difference in their lives. I am encouraged by others, I love to listen and maybe I have often helped others through their problems. I love people and feel that no one should have to live their lives with overlaoded bagage, get rid of it and start enjoying life. I am not one for big words for I have always wanted to know that when someone reads my poetry they don't have to question them.

I had published a book of poetry in 2005. It is called "From My Heart To Yours". It is family oriented. I hope to reach out to the hearts of others by what I have written. Most of the poems in this book was written because of different situations in our lives over the past. I have received an Editors award for several of my poems that were published in other books. I have written several songs and had one choosen as the title song for a Christmas CD, recorded by Country Generations, called "The Thoughts Of Christmas". My only regret is that I never took the oportunity to learn to play music while I had the chance. I love to sing for fun not as an entertainer, therefore it would be great if I could play. Who knows, they say you're never too old.

I have a second book of poetry written but not published as of yet, but I hope to in the near future. I have also written several short stories and keep busy writting Gospel, Lullabyes & country songs and believe me, they come straight from the heart. I have made three trips to Nashville and I have to say it I loved each trip, I will make a lot more visits there. since I have been on the Authors Den, I have had the opportunity of getting to know my dear cousin, Felix Perry, whom I have never really met or had the chance to get to know. I came to know so much about Felix through his words which I have come to enjoy so much, thank you for sharing with us Felix. I thank the Den for bringing him into my life. We talk almost every day and have found that we have so much in common that we have to be related. My sister told me about the Den and she too is a member, Selina Dobbin-Gillis and is indeed a wonderful writer. Again I have to say it was Felix who let the Den be known to her who passed the information onto me. So I can faithfully say that the Den has indeed made me feel like part of a large family. Thank you so much.

I seem to be able to write about anything that comes to mind, I am a family/people person, and therefore they fasinate me, how one speaks, think and feel about anything that goes on in or around there lives. I have to say after my family, my love is what I put on paper. I am normally a very happy person and hold a great deal of love in my heart for everyone and everything around me. I have learned to appreciate everyday that I wake up and very thankful to look in the mirrow and see that I have been given another day to enjoy all the beauty that has been supplied for us. I don't feel that there has to be a price tag on a gift for the most precious gifts in the world are free. I do believe that we wake up in the morning with a choice of what our day will be like and if we let someone ruin it for us then we must have given them permission to do so. Life is too short, so soak it up and enjoy it while we can.

There are so many things I enjoy doing, such as making quilts for my children. I like to knit them sweaters and touques when my hands alow me. I love to decorate all their birthday cakes, and wedding cakes that stand 7/9 tiers high. I love to sew and I have to be busy all the time. I do flower arrangements for weddings and write the verse for scrols. I find as most people when we start getting older that there isn't as many hours in our day or maybe we are so busy , the hours seem to go by faster. We can't seem to slow ourselves down. My children to me will always be my children and I have to pull back sometimes and tell myself that it is okay for them to do things for themselves. I guess I just love them that much. So this is a little of who I am and what I am about. Here it is July 13,2007 and I have had a wonderful time playing the autoharp. In june I went to NS. to meet my cousin Felix for the first time that I can remember and I had a blast with him and his family. It seemed that everywhere I went someone was playing the guitar and it broke my heart that I couldn't join in as I love to sing so much so here I am today learning to play the guitar, so hopefully the next trip I can help with the enjoyable entertainment. I must say I have lots of encouragement from everyone who believe I can do it, time will tell.

I have recently sent out 11 manuscripts to different publishing companies, I hope that someone will think my poetry is worth publishing. I realize it could take time and I do have the patience to hold on for awhile. I look forward to sharing this book with others as I am very proud of it. I thought this was a proper name for my book, considering it was written from my heart and came from people I love and care about deeply. We'll wait and see what comes off it.
