Growing up, in the Choctaw and Creek Indian Nations of Oklahoma, with the spoken languages of Choctaw, Ojibwa, Spanish and English was an asset in my knowledge of story telling. A reporter for the McCurtain Gazette told me, “Write down the stories and the things you have done in life for some day they would be useful in keeping the tales of the old folks alive after we all were gone.” Work

Background Information

A newspaper man working for the McCurtian County Gazzett and a Theater owner was a big help in my taking notes. Medicaly retired from the Army and from any other type of work. I play with my grandkids and compile my stories into novels. I have even started puting notes in to files to start new novels.

THE EARLY TIMES OF THE WHITE BEAR CLAN Across the wide expanse of half the continent on the Trail Of Tears. The young boy followed in his fathers footsteps as a horse thief and a supplier of food. In addition, he furnished the necessities of food, horses, weapons and ammunition for the bandits hiding in Robbers Cave or surrounding areas of the Indian Territory of Oklahoma. The part he played in the robberies, his accomplishments and life as a bounty hunter and rancher. Trying to do things by the law and unable to accomplish being lawful, his untimely death by hanging of a crime he didn’t commit. His oldest son with the help of an outlaw friend rode the vengeance trail. -------------------------------------- "John O'Leary U.S.Marshal" After only receiving a small sum of the family inheritance the man went west to make his fortune. His adventures while he was making his fortune as a trader of weapons. After helping, a friend out he became a U.S. Marshal. Through the years, his tracking, arresting or having to kill outlaws he married a young girl. Upon her death only after a week of being married, he swore to chase the men responsible to hell and back. ------------ “Nights of Terror” A woman of Hugoton, a one horse town, on the Kansas plains tried to help two small Indian children. They died of lung fever in her home. Several months went by and a prominent citizen was found dead on the plains near town. Then the nights of terror started. After dark the town was afraid to go out at night for when someone did, they died. The sheriff was the only man to stop the killing and burning of his town. ------------------ “Mountain Thunder” Ben Colder was known to do a little of everything to make money. He took on a job of finding a lost husband for a lady. When the price for finding a lost husband was upped to $1000 dollars, all Ben could think about was a cattle ranch in the Chickasaw Nation. The lost husband turned out to be the only Doctor in the Ouachita Mountain Range. The Butler Gang had taken the doc under their wing and didn’t want him to be taken from the mountains. ------------------------------ Never Too Late Finding out his brother had been hung as a horse thief; Jim went to find out who had framed his brother. Several men had formed a grange. They were determined to take over the cattle range of the Box L ranch. The lady and her brother were trying to run the ranch when her brother was bushwhacked. Then the cattle were being brazenly stolen by the grange members. The law wouldn’t help for the sheriff was an old outlaw from the red river country. The Box L was in trouble and Jim hired a crew and went to help. -------------------- Mountain Thunder An old time type western, about the old adage of one Ranger for the job, is the best way. After delivering a prisoner for the Texas Rangers, Sam Mountain took a leave of absents to visit his sister-in-law and nephew. Sam didn’t bother to tell anyone he was a Texas Ranger. From the time he arrived until he finished he was in constant danger. The Indians and most of the neighbors were afraid to go to Saddle Mountain even in the day light. The rustlers were wiping out the Circle M from stealing the cattle and horses to burning the ranch builds. Sam found the secret of Saddle Mountain. Also his true love if she would have him.
