The meaning of life, if any at all, is to create a meaning for life. On the Remembrance Day of 2012, Changming Yuan and Allen Yuan co-founded a literary e.zine called Poetry Pacific at All poetry submissions are welcome year round at

Yuan's greatest achievements are his two sons, in addition to two poetic lines: 1)There is light in every dream we have in darkness; and 2)Mask is the only garment that will never go out of fashion. He hopes that the link form he has invented and termed as "Siamese Stanzas" will eventually become his most important poetic invention. Since 2009, he has been nominated five times for a Pushcart Prize.
1. "Kinship: for Yuan Hongqi." nominated by Mobius for a Pushcart Prize for 2012 [link::];

2. "SAWS: A Seasonal Poem," nominated by Wilderness House Literary Review for a Pushcart prize for 2011. [link::];

3. "Word Collage: A Democratic Poem," nominated by Carcinogenic Poetry (Virgogray Press) for a Puschcart prize for 2010. [link::];

4. "S. E. W. N," nominated by Blue Fifth Review for a Pushcart Prize for 2009. []. Also, originally published by BFR, my poem "Last Single Sale" was selected for inclusion in Best New Poems Online;

5. "Chansons of a Chinaman," nominated by my first poetry book publisher Leaf Garden Press for a Pushcart Prize for 2009. [link::].

Additional Information

in July 2013, Yuan's collection "Landscaing" is due out via Flutter Press. In 2009, Yuan had two books released: one was a monograph titled Politics and Poetics: A Comparative Study of John Keats and Li He (LAP, Berlin), and the other a poetry collection Chansons of a Chinaman (Leaf Garden, Murfreesboro, TN). Currently Yuan is trying to find a publisher for his three book-length mss of poetry. For quite a few years already, he has kept wondering why it is so particularly difficult for him to get his collections published while tens of thousands of other people have succeeded in doing so, though many of them have much weaker publication records.

Poetry Pacifc
Established on the Remembrance Day of 2012 in Vancouver, Canada, Poetry Pacific is a literary ezine committed to promoting and publishing the very 'best' contemporary poetry in English it can find. Although temporarily blog-confined, PP is one of the most open-minded poetry outlets one can find: we welcome all kinds of poetry from any one across the globe; although a relatively new comer to the scene, PP will be one of the longer-enduring literary publications: it is at least a 2-generation project; although a highly humble starter, PP has great ambitions: it has been developing much faster than expected, and will expand into a serious publication to promote poetical/cultural exchanges between English and Chinese. Following a blind submission policy, Poetry Pacific is of, by, and for true lovers of words and wisdom.
