After caring for several horses with health and safety issues, I realized that my situation was not unique. Many horse people have rescued horses, or have considered adopting a horse from a rescue organization. All kinds of horses are available for adoption, from mustangs to retired thoroughbred race horses. My book covers adoption procedures, as well as providing guidance on health care and training issues.
