Mike Morell is a member of Critique Circle and Critters Writers Workshop.
With a BA in theater arts and a MBA in arts administration from the University of California, he settled in Arizona to pursue full-time writing. “I prefer the horror, murder genre and enjoy political & social issues."
"Minimalism is the art of the future, I think. I am trying to get better at stripping the writing elements to the the bare bones. It's not easy."
“Thank you all for reflecting on my submissions. I have written seven crime shorts--a collection titled Serial Killers in the Nuclear Age and Other Stories.
“I finished Hitler & Stalin, a science fiction or horror story basis for a stage play."
Publications, if any? “The Alien Sonata, a social satire, a novel with Outskirts Press.”
Anything else you think would interest other members? “My critiques are an ideal that I apply to my own work. In judging, I might sound insensitive sometimes. Critiques contain a few grains of gold in a mountain of sand. Authors would do well picking up the gold and discarding the rest as there are no rules in the art of writing.”
Footnote: “My first goal was the movies, Tinseltown but my experiences were not rewarding. I like writing and I'll do it for keeps.”
