Today I would like to introduce myself and my family. First off, my name is Makhtal Ali “Young Ali”. I was born on December 23rd, 1989 in Nairobi, Kenya. One of the things that I am most grateful for is my family. My parents name’s are Ali Muse and Dahiya Khalaf, they are always there for me and they have love for me that I know will never go away. This was just a small introduction into my amazing life, now I will give a clearer picture on whom I am and who my family is.
To begin with, my family has lived in Kenya for 16 years. I have attended three schools’ which include North Welcome Center, Beechcroft High School, and I currently attend Columbus State Community College. North Welcome Center was my introduction to school and it showed me what I need in order to be successful in my more advanced years of school. Beechcroft High School was a great experience for me because I made tons of friends and learned many things. I am also glad that I attend Columbus State Community College, and even though I am barely a sophomore I know that I will have a great time and that I will be able to set many goals and also accomplish many things. Now I will talk a little about the people that have supported me through my years of school. These people are my two parents, Ali and Dahiya, which are still happily married. I am not an only child and have two great brothers and six sisters. My family and I love to spend time with each other. For example we go to the movie theater whenever we have a chance to, and we also enjoy going on vacations once in a while. I like living in United States of America because it is where I grew up and where my parents and I have grown as a family.
Next I will talk a little about my extended family. Firstly, I have grandparents on both my mom’s and dad’s side of my family. I also have two wonderful step sisters Shukri Ali and Naima Ali and one great step brother Mohamed Ali. In almost 13 years I haven’t seen any of my extended family that I mentioned. In 2002 I finally got the chance to meet my step sister and step brother. It was so emotional because it hurts when you meet someone that’s so important to you which you never meet them before.
