I am currently writing a four book epic fantasy series, The Three Powers.  I was thrilled to bits with Glenda A Bixler's review of the first book in this series, The Snowmelt River, for AuthorsDen, which had a positive impact on sales.  I hope this will encourage other people to believe that AuthorsDen can really help them with their writing.  I'm also delighted to say that The Snowmelt River entered the amazon.co.uk epic fantasy top ten bestsellers in October 2012.  Many thanks to the readers who made this possible.  The second book in the series, The Tower of Bones,  is also doing very well.  While the series was first published in the UK, Australia and other Commonwealth countries, I'm also delighted to announce that the series will begin publication in the US in November 2013.  I know that many American readers have been reading it already in Kindle but it will now be available in other printed formats.  More at www.frankpryan.com.

I've written quite a few novels, including contemporary fiction (Taking Care of Harry) - note that Between Clouds and the Sea is an abridged version of Taking Care of Harry with the laddish humour cut down to suit a more gentle heart.  I've written the popular thrillers (Goodbye Baby Blue, Sweet Summer, Tiger Tiger), a science fiction novel that is doing particularly well as a Kindle e-book (The Doomsday Genie). I've also been writing science books for two decades, such as the New York Times Book of the Year, The Forgotten Plague (Tuberculosis: The Greatest Story Never Told), the Charlie Munger Chosen Book, Virus X, a comparative critique of neo-Darwinism and symbiosis in Darwin's Blind Spot, and with the book in which I pioneered viral symbiosis and the concept of a holobiontic genome, Virolution.  I have just completed an important new popular science book, The Mystery of Metamorphosis: A Scientific Detective Puzzle.  This is now published - attracting one or two fine early reviews, including New Scientist.  I've written features in New Scientist on the subjects of both these latter books.  In terms of real science, I've been developing the concepts of viral symbiosis and the holobiontic nature of the human genome for many years.  More at www.fprbooks.com. I was delighted when the corporation John West picked The Snowmelt River as their "Chosen Book for 2010".  I helped them to set up the first teenage fantasy short story competition in Ireland -- and this has now gone into its third year and attracted more than 20,000 entrants, a national record I believe.  

I'm interested in many things other than writing.  I'm a family man, with two children and two grandchildren. I also like sport and support my local football team, Sheffield Wednesday.  I used to play the guitar but these days do more listening than playing.  I ran an art gallery for nine years and like the company of artists.
