Author of The Rex Graves Mystery Series


Background Information

Born in Bloomington, IN, and now living permanently in Southwest Florida, C. S. Challinor was educated in Scotland and England, and holds a joint honors degree in Latin and French from the University of Kent, Canterbury, England, as well as a diploma in Russian from the Pushkin Institute in Moscow. Author of the Rex Graves cozy mystery series featuring Scottish barrister-sleuth, Rex Graves. All Rex Graves titles (published by Midnight Ink Books, US) are available in trade paperback and Kindle, Nook, etc. CHRISTMAS IS MURDER, the first in the series, also available in Large Print hardcover (Thorndike Reviewer's Choice), reached #1 on the Kindle Bestseller List.
The fifth in the series, MURDER OF THE BRIDE, is a Mystery Guild Book Club pick (hardcover).
MURDER AT MIDNIGHT, the newest Rex Graves title from Midnight Ink, is a New Year's Eve mystery set in the Highlands of Scotland and is due out in August 2014.        

Favorite novels include Faulkner's "Light in August," Carson McCullers' "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter," Nabokov's "Laughter in the Dark," Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca," the Maigret series by Georges Simenon, and almost everything by Hemingway and Agatha Christie.
