Eric Oberg grew up in Seattle, Washington. Eric first studied Judo as a child and began his Aikido training in 1982 at Seattle Aikikai under Bruce Bookman. He studied with Jeff Haller and Ellis Amdur at Inside Moves in Seattle. Eric acted as the Coordinating Instructor at Seattle School of Aikido from 1995 to 2001.

Eric Oberg is the author of "Moving Toward Harmony". His article "Aikido: Being Present in the Learning Experience" was published in The Journal of Experiential Education. He has presented Aikido principles to Nordstrom, Gateway Athletic Club, Northwest Actors Studio, The Association of Experiential Education and the Univesity District Teen Shelter.
