I’ve always been a creative type of person. Ever since I can remember I’ve been creating something out of nothing; a slideshow, video or short story. After taking an English Literature course at college, my passion for reading and writing increased and I wanted to write something longer than a short story. There are two writers who really inspire me. Firstly John Grisham in my opinion is the best Crime/Mystery novelist there is. His books are so full of factual jargon alongside a fictional story that you feel that the story you read is truly believable. His ability to centre on one subject throughout almost all of his books; the courts of law, shows true talent because not one of his stories are the same in anyway. The second author that inspires me is J.R.R Tolkien. When I was told when I was younger that I was related to this great man, it didn’t mean anything to me. When I got into my teens and was able to properly read his works, especially his world famous trilogy, I was enthralled by his incredible imagination and originality. There are only a select few people throughout history that can spin an entire world within their own thoughts and made it come to life.

My greatest achievement in my mind is being able to actually finish a 100,000 word novel as well as start on a second, whilst coping with being a student. Also managed to get a place at the centre of excellence to study media in the whole of the United Kingdom.

I’ve just completed my first novel after over two years of hard work. Being a student, surviving on loans, I haven’t been able to really get my book out there for people to read. I self-published it with lulu.com and I encourage as many people to give it a chance and have a look at it. The book is entitled ‘Life’s Cruel Lesson’
