I have fallen asleep many times to the sound of my mothers old manual typewriter ticking away at a clever mystery or sentimental poem. She introduced my brother and I to the library before we were old enough to get our own cards. I have been in love with the written word ever since. Words that when I am writing them seem to come from somewhere else, and enter through me and out into the world. Even if no one else ever reads them, they have to emerge. I wrote my first newspaper article when I was eight. I made up some very unique stories, and I still have it. I dreamed of being like Mary Tyler Moore, only a writer of books instead of news. But my cool apartment was going to be just like hers-with the big 'M' and everything. I write almost daily, and often have to stop everything when a poem or line comes to me. I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy writing it.

In highschool, I was on the "Patriot Pride" newspaper staff! I made up ideas for new columns and wrote articles with my friend Holly.
We thought we were big stuff.
I later wrote book reviews for a small town newspaper, and I now write a column for another
publication.

I have been working on my first full length book for about three years. I have twin sons, so my time is limited. But one day, it will be finished. I write poetry for myself and for special occasions. I particularly like to write historically themed poems, along with creating an oil painting to reflect the poem. I just finished my first book of poetry.
