Thanks to a few mean nuns my irreverent nature bloomed into full-blown rebellion, and I became addicted to fun and its by-product, trouble. Although I did not go to an imaginary prison--like James Frey--I went to a real Catholic school, then on to college.
Armed with a journalism degree, but no ammunition, I opted for a career in packaging sales. I became a born again writer in my thirties (after the divorce).
My motivation comes from reading, especially other humor writers. I've also been kind of a comedy groupie. Ellen DeGeneres is my favorite (replacing Dennis Miller around the turn of the century).

Additional Information

|
My beach party/table dancing/book tour officially concluded two weeks ago, but I will still do an occasional bar signing (they don't take half your money like bookstores, and often people will give you a twenty and tell you to "keep the change and buy yourself a drink." Really. On the serious side I have been teaching a self-esteem workshop to teen girls, in conjunction with The Boys & Girls Club.
